This food offering comes from St Johns Lutheran Church in Libertyville, Illinois. They served a hot, sliced turkey with potatoes. I'm not sure how they prepared the turkey but it was a lot like a catered buffet kind of turkey. The potatoes were almost like a breakfast potato kind of thing. Next to the main course was a vat of very delicious brown gravy.
On the side we have a rice that had a very nice seasoning. Not sure what it was, but it tastes and felt good. I also had a kale tibouli dish. I don't know if that's actually what it was but there was kale, line nuts, tomatoes, and maybe vinegar or something. It was really good but a little spicy.

Well it was breadsticks here at Peace in Hartford, WI. There was some spaghetti too, but look at all those breadsticks. I had four.
Sorry
Man I really dropped the ball by not documenting all the Lent dinners this year. There will be another one tonight. I can't forget!!!!

I keep forgetting to let everyone know what great things these nice churches are cooking. Today in Milton it was homemade spaghetti.

Three pieces of garlic bread
Iceberg lettuce w Italian dressing
Four little cookies
Two helping of butterfinger flavored stuff on angel food cake.

Trinity, Brillion and St Johns, Wauwatosa
Both Trinity and St Johns got us Subway for our church meal. While it's not a home cooked meal it's always nice to get fed.

Chicken Barley Chili
First entry in this ongoing critique of the meals special church people give us on our travels. These critiques are my opinion only, no one else's usually.
Zion Lutheran, Arlington, WI
The pastor at this church's wife is an amazing chef. This chicken/barley chili may look like barf, but that's only because I'm terrible at taking flattering pictures. It was very delicious. There were also pies, but there are no pictures of them. They were eaten too fast.
